WARANGAL: Jagat Prakash Nadda, National President of the BJP, in a lacklustre public meeting organised to mark the conclusion of Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar's 'praja sangarama yatra' at Hanamakonda on Saturday, called Telangana Chief Minister KCR "naya Nizam".

The hype given by the cancellation of and subsequent court order for the conduct of the public meeting couldn't gather a bigger attendance than those gathered from the motley crowd.

Addressing a huge public gathering at Hanamkonda Arts College, Warangal which was organised to mark the culmination of the third phase of its state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar's Praja Sangram Yatra, JP Nadda congratulated Bandi Sanjay, the president of the Telangana BJP, on the accomplishment of his Praja Sangrama yatrya. Telangana's Chief Minister KCR promised to celebrate September 17 annually as Telangana Vimochan Din (Telangana Liberation Day) in the honour of those who fought the Razakars before he came to power. Nadda asked, "What happened to KCR's promise?" In addition, Nadda promised people that Telangana will observe Liberation Day once the BJP comes to power.

He appealed to the people of Telangana to vote for the BJP and choose a development and corruption-free BJP government over the Naya Nizam (KCR) of Telangana. "Whatever development initiatives the BJP came up with, the TRS government intended to thwart them. Do Telangana's people want a Chief Minister like KCR, who is impeding growth in the state? KCR did not spend the funds granted by the Centre for flood relief. He's afraid of the MIM. He was issuing 'farman' not to conduct public meetings and this would become the last farman even for KCR" remarked the BJP's national president.

This was Nadda's second public appearance in Telangana in less than two months. Nadda addressed a public gathering in Hyderabad in the first week of July to commemorate the end of the BJP's national executive meeting in Hyderabad.

He also met former India women's cricket captain Mithali Raj in Hyderabad ahead of the public meeting in Hanamkonda.
