Niranjan Reddy criticises paltry allocations for agriculture sector in interim budget
Former Minister and BRS leader Singireddy Niranjan Reddy criticised the State Government for slashing Rs 7,085 crore from the budgetary allocations to the agriculture sector.
HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS leader Singireddy Niranjan Reddy criticised the State Government for slashing Rs 7,085 crore from the budgetary allocations to the agriculture sector
Reacting to the interim budget presented in the Assembly on Saturday by the Minister of Finance Bhatti Vikramatka, he said that the allocation for the sector was Rs 26,831 crore whereas the allocation was only Rs 19,746 crore in the interim budget.
“It seems that the Congress had done with Rs 15,000 Rytu Bharosa financial incentive to farmers, Rs 12,000 for agricultural labour and Rs 500 bonus per quintal of paddy, the former Agriculture.

He said that the budget made no mention of the crop loan waiver that Congress had promised. He demanded the Government to clarify Rtyu Bandhu, Rytu Bima, loan waiver, and 24-hour free power for farmers.
“What happened to crop loan waiver in one go to be signed on December 9, 2023? Now the Yasangi season is midway and there is no Rytu Bandhu money deposited in farmers’ accounts. For 10 years the BRS Government protected farmers from all uncertainties, but the Congress Government in two months after coming to power is trying to push the agrarian sector back to square one,” he observed.
He said that the BRS would educate farmers on how they were cheated by Revanth Reddy’s Government.
