Telangana State Power Minister Jagdish Reddy has clarified that despite the torrential rains falling across the state
HYDERABAD: Telangana State Power Minister Jagdish Reddy has clarified that despite the torrential rains falling across the state, there will be no interruption in power transmission under any circumstances. He said the Telangana power companies were providing uninterrupted supply even though the rainfall had never dwindled in hundreds of years.
A special review meeting was held at Vidyut Soudha on Wednesday on the problems faced by the electricity department due to torrential rains in the state. TRNSCO and GENCO CMD Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao presided over this review meeting.
Minister Jagdish Reddy said that due to the coordination of the CMDs with the electricity personnel at the field level, there was no disruption to the power supply. The efforts of the Telangana power companies are commendable for effectively managing the transmission and distribution despite the unprecedented rains and floods.
He said that although the production decreased due to water logging and transport problems in the Singareni open cast, there were no problems with the coal being supplied to GENCO. He said that power supply is a dynamic system and working without damaging the grids by overcoming the tides is a proof of the performance of Telangana power companies. With the recent rains, 2,300 pillars have fallen to the ground, and more than 1,800 of them have already been restored. He said that heavy rains are still being recorded in the NPDCL area and the supply of 33/11 KV to one Sarvaipet sub station in the Bhupalappalli constituency has stopped. Minister Jagdish Reddysaid that they will restore it in two or three days and continue the supply.
