HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, an explosion occurred at Gowliguda Chaman in Hyderabad leaving one person killed and two others injured in the blast.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and found that the blast occurred while pouring water into a manhole with a chemical.
A man named Bharat Bathod was killed and his father Venugopal Bathod was injured in the blast.
The police said Bharat Bathod had been doing chemical business locally with Giri Raj Company for some time now. It was during this sequence that Bharat dumped the expired chemical into the manhole in front of his house for some time. Also on Sunday morning, Bharat poured some of the expired chemicals in his shop into the manhole. As the chemical did not go inside the manhole completely, he stirred with an iron rod and poured water from the top, which led to a loud explosion from the manhole. Bharat was killed on the spot and his body was flung over two floors upwards, while Bharat's father Venu Gopal and another were seriously injured.
The locals were at once stunned as the sound of large-scale blasting spread to the surrounding areas and ran for safety in a panic. As soon as the information was received, the police and the Clues team reached the spot and examined the surrounding areas. The body of the deceased Bharat was recovered and taken to the Osmania Mortuary while Venu Gopal, who was injured, is being treated at Osmania Hospital.
Afzalganj police registered a case and are investigating. The clues team at the scene collected chemicals related to the blasting and sent them to the FSL lab for testing.
