Only 3 vehicles, 5 persons to be allowed with contestants for nominations: ECI

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Assembly elections notification for 119 constituencies would be released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday.
Immediately after the issue of such notification in each Constituency, candidates can start filing their nominations from 11 am to 3 pm on all working days from November 3 to November 10.
Sharing the rules for candidates, ECI said, "Three vehicles will be allowed in the candidate’s convoy within the periphery of 100 meters to Returning Officer’s (RO) office at the time of filing nomination. Including the candidate, five persons will allowed inside the RO’s room.
"Along with nomination, the candidate has to file an affidavit in Form-26 declaring information about his criminal antecedents, assets, liabilities and education qualifications.
"At least one day before filing nomination, each candidate has to open a separate bank account to monitor his election expenditure. The bank account can be opened anywhere in the State.
"Online nomination facility is available through Suvidha Portal of ECI and signed hard copy of the same has to be submitted to RO. After 3 pm on each day, RO will publish a list of nominations filed. Copies of nominations and affidavits will be displayed on notice board of RO’s office on the same day," the ECI said.
"The affidavits filed by candidates have to be uploaded on ECI website within 24 hours and will also displayed in CEO’s website," said the ECI.
