HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) issued an 'Orange Alert' in Telangana State on Monday for the next three days. According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in various Telangana districts during the next three days.

Heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected in parts of Telangana on July 25 and July 26, 2023. Several places in Telangana are expected to receive light to moderate showers.

Thunder and lightning are anticipated in Telangana State, accompanied with gusty gusts with wind speeds of 40 to 50 kmph in some areas.

IMD has issued an orange warning for severe to very heavy rains on July 24 in districts such as Siddipet, Jangoan, Suryapet, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. On July 25, 2023, a red alert with extremely heavy rain was issued in districts such as Hanumkonda, Warangal, and Mahabubabad in the state.

IMD has also issued a red alert for exceptionally heavy rainfall on July 26 in districts like Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda, and Mahabubabad.

Another red alert was issued for July 27 with warnings of extremely heavy rain in Kamareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Rangareddy districts, and an orange alert for July 28 with heavy to severe rain in Nirmal and Medchal districts.
