"Harish Rao, KCR and Akbaruddin Owaisi should take up the responsibility of clearing the dues in Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South respectively," Revanth said.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that the outstanding bills of power sector are highest in Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South.
Speaking after tabling the white paper on the power sector in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Revanth Reddy said that Siddipet, district of former Finance Minister Harish Rao, has arrears of 61.7 per cent; Gajwel of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has arrears of 50.29 per cent and Hyderabad South of Akbaruddin Owaisi has dues of 43 per cent.
"Harish Rao, KCR and Akbaruddin Owaisi should take up the responsibility of clearing the dues in Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South respectively," Revanth said.
Responding to former Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy that there were no power cuts in the State during the BRS regime, Revanth said, "Jagadish Reddy claimed that no farmer staged a dharna for power. Everyone knows that farmers staged a protest and laid siege to the Electric Sub Station on September 1, 2023 in Kamareddy. Likewise, farmers from Nereducharla in Suryapet district took to the streets during the BRS rule. A farmer named Komurayya committed suicide due to lack of power supply and the damage of crops in the BRS rule.
"Srisailam hydel power generation tunnel exploded and nine persons were killed due to the BRS Government’s negligence. It was the Congress which supported the family of Fatima who died in the accident. The then Chief Minister and Energy Minister did not even visit those affected families," the Chief Minister said.
