Paid workers protest in Adilabad as Congress leaders fail to pay promised Rs 500 for Revanth Reddy's meeting
People from Jainad and Bhela mandals staged a protest in front of Adilabad Congress candidate Kandi Srinivas Reddy’s office on Wednesday for denial of payment to them for attending the Congress Viayabheri Yatra
ADILABAD: The Congress party, which is battling internal squabbles after the announcement of tickets for the Assembly elections, is now facing resistance from paid workers for non-payment of expenses for attending the meetings in the State.
In one such instance, people from Jainad and Bhela mandals staged a protest in front of Adilabad Congress party candidate Kandi Srinivas Reddy’s office on Wednesday for denial of payment to them for attending the Congress Viayabheri Yatra.
The people from Jainad and Bhela mandals alleged that followers of Srinivas Reddy promised to pay Rs 300 each apart from travel expenses for attending TPCC president A Revanth Reddy’s programme. Even though the meeting concluded at 3 pm, the followers of Srinivas Reddy allegedly did not pay the promised amount.
With no option left, the paid workers protested for hours in front of Srinivas Reddy’s office and headed back to their villages empty-handed.
