PJR's daughter to join Congress
HYDERABAD: "I am joining the Congress party for a better future," Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) corporator P Vijaya Reddy, said. She decided to leave the TRS and join the Congress. She met TPCC president Revanth Reddy on Saturday and said she would join the party formally on June 23.
She is the daughter of former Congress Legislature Party leader late P Janardan Reddy, popularly known as PJR. She is joining the Congress to continue the legacy of her late father P Janardhan Reddy.
Looking at the current situation of the country, the Congress was the only party which could give her the right platform, she said.
"I will follow the footsteps of my father to carry out his legacy in politics," she said.
Vijaya Reddy believes that the TRS has restricted her freedom and drawn a boundary for her. She wants to free herself from the steel frame.
Asked about contesting as an MLA, she said it's too soon to have a discussion on that as there were no Assembly elections happening now.
