PM Modi lays stone for Rs.6,100-cr projects, hails Telangana’s role in India’s economic progress
The projects include foundation stone for 176-km-long National Highway projects, Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet & upgradation of the 68-km-long Karimnagar – Warangal section of NH-563.
WARANGAL: India is now the world's fifth largest economic power, and the people of Telangana have played a key role in India's rapid economic progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday in Warangal.
The potential of the Telugu people had always contributed significantly to India's strength and prosperity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said after laying the foundation stone for the Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet, Warangal.
The Prime Minister hailed the potential of youngsters in the country and emphasised the importance of harnessing their energy to propel India into a golden period in the third decade of the twenty-first century.
"Today, when the entire world is looking to invest in India and there is so much excitement about a developed India, Telangana emerges as a promising destination for potential opportunities.
We have a golden period in the 21st century's third decade, and we have to make the most of it, ensuring that no corner of the country is left behind in terms of development, " said the Prime Minister.
He said the projects and initiatives of the Centre were benefitting Telangana in various ways, across sectors. He also emphasised the importance of working together to realise the country's enormous potential and make progress towards achieving sustainable growth.
He said that infrastructure of all types were being developed at a much faster rate than in the past. A nationwide network of highways, motorways, commercial corridors, and industrial corridors were also being established.
He said, "The country's manufacturing industry is an additional significant source of employment for youngsters as part of the 'Make in India' initiative. We have also launched the Production Linked Incentive(PLI) scheme to encourage manufacturing in the country,” said the Prime Minister.
Modi laid the foundation stone for several infrastructure development projects worth around Rs 6,100 crore in Warangal.
The projects include foundation stone for 176-km-long National Highway projects, Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet & upgradation of the 68-km-long Karimnagar – Warangal section of NH-563.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who was also present during the occasion, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had prioritised infrastructure development in India. He said that infrastructure projects worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore had been completed, were under construction, or had begun in Telangana. Telangana would see projects worth Rs by 2 lakh crore by the end of 2024, he added.
