Police to conduct drunk drive tests from 8 PM today amid New Year Celebrations

HYDERABAD: On the occasion of New Year Celebrations, the Telangana DGP Ravi Gupta has instructed all police stations in the state to conduct drunk and drive and drug detection tests starting from 8 pm tonight. He warned of imposition of fines and imprisonment as per law if caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Cyberabad Commissioner of Police said that special restrictions will be enforced in Hyderabad and Cyberabad during the New Year celebrations and asserted that vehicular traffic would be restricted on the flyovers and the outer ring road (ORR). The CP said that the permission for any activities would be denied from 10 pm tonight to 6 am tomorrow. The Cyberabad CP said that motorists going towards Shamshabad Airport must possess passes.
