Poll seizures worth Rs 427.15 crore made in Telangana since October 9

HYDERABAD: The law enforcement agencies in Telangana have seized Rs 427.15 crore worth of gold, silver, diamonds and cash seized in the State since October 9, after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Of the total seizures, Telangana police seized 263.705 kg of gold, 1,091.933 kg of silver, 190.71 carat diamonds, and 5.35 grams of platinum, worth Rs 165.21 crore. The police seized 10,18,99.79 liters of liquor, worth Rs 44.94 crore, 5,487.92 kgs of ganja, 0.3 liters weed oil, 0.156 kg MDMA, 3.5 kg hash oil, 0.18 kg heroine, 1,096.97 kg NDPS, 0.07 kg cocaine and 0.020 kg charas worth Rs 23.39 crore.

Apart from that, the police also seized over Rs 42.01 crore worth of items and freebies, including 1.57 lakh kg of rice, as many as 9,152 cookers, as many as 71,836 mobile phones, as many as 56, 118 sarees and as many as 5,778 fans, according to a statement issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Wednesday.
