Postal ballots account for 29,267 votes in Telangana polls
A total of 17,105 applications were received from senior citizen voters above the age of 80 of which as many as 6,226 cast their votes

HYDERABAD: As many as 29,267 people will be casting their vote through postal ballot for the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana scheduled on November 30, 2023, according to the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the officials said that the total number of postal ballots received from absentee voters were about 9,174. A total of 17,105 applications were received from senior citizen voters above the age of 80 of which as many as 6,226 cast their votes, the officials added.
Similarly, a total of 9,964 applications were received from PwD (Persons with Disability), out of which as many as 2,884 exercised their right to franchise as on November 21. The officials added that the Returning Officers (ROs) had approved as many as 2,198 applications under essential services, of which 64 cast their votes.
