Prez polls first step to save democracy: Sinha

HYDERABAD: Telangana is a 'Miracle Sate', we will fight the Narendra Modi's rule with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the country, said opposition parties' presidential candidate, while addressing a meeting at Jalavihar on Saturday.

He said that KCR had explained in detail the situation in the country. He thanked the Chief Minister and IT minister KTR for extending support to him in the presidential election.

" We have been fighting against the central government and their policies for many years. If the situation of the country deteriorates, we cannot stand calm and we have to raise our voices. This is not a fight between two people. This fight is for the protection of our country. Presidential polls are not the ultimate fight. It's just the first step to save democracy."

Sinha questions Modi on his silence on public appearance and why he didn't answer the questions raised by KCR, then he supports his statement by saying: "Modi won't answer not because he can't, but because he has no answers for the questions," he alleged.

"I have a huge respect for KCR since we met first in Lok Sabha. His voice to fight for the formation of Telangana was firm. No one believed in the formation of Telangana but KCR made this dream come true by making Telangana one of the best states in the country," he added.

The fight for democracy will continue even after Rastrapati elections, he observed.
