Puvvada Ajay visits Bhadrachalam's flood-hit areas

HYDERABAD: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Friday visited the flood-affected areas in Bhadrachalam and monitored the rescue and relief measures. The minister went around AMC Colony, Subhash Nagar, Shanti Nagar and Mithila Stadium where the floodwater has reached knee-level.

He directed officials to expedite efforts to shift people from the flood-hit areas to the camps set up by the government and ensure proper rehabilitation.

The water level in River Godavari at Bhadrachalam is recorded at 68 ft and is expected to rise up to 75 ft.
