Rajgopal Reddy concedes defeat in Munugode but claims moral victory
Reddy asserted that the TRS intimidated people in the constituency by threatening to suspend social programmes
MUNUGODE: While blaming the TRS for his defeat, Munugode BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said on Sunday that no returning officer had ever been suspended in the country's history.
Speaking to the media after emerging out of the counting centre in Munugode, Rajagopal Reddy claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister K T Rama Rao put a lot of pressure on the returning officer, leading to his suspension.
Rajagopal Reddy even claimed that the police acted unfairly. He claimed TRS leaders violated election laws. "I accept the verdict of the people, but I won this election on moral grounds," said BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.
Reddy said, "TRS won unethically because they enticed voters and put a lot of pressure on them." He stated that they had distributed sheep to the Golla community with an eye on their votes. He claimed that money was credited to their accounts and that it had been locked. They threatened to take the money away if they did not vote. He claimed that they even threatened to reduce everyone's pension. The Election Commission prohibiting Minister Jagadish Reddy from campaigning is the best example of all of this, he said.
Reddy asserted that the TRS intimidated people in the constituency by threatening to suspend social programmes if they did not vote for the TRS candidate.
In addition, he vowed to continue opposing the TRS government despite losing the election. He stated that he would fight for the liberation of Telangana from the grasp of KCR's family.
