HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao questioned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s rationale behind the proposed removal of Charminar from the State emblem.
He pointed out that Hyderabad was synonymous with Charminar and had been identified with that monument. “Charminar has all the qualities of a UNESCO World Heritage site,” he pointed out.
Taking to X on Thursday he said: “World over, Charminar has been the icon/symbol of Hyderabad for centuries. When one thinks of Hyderabad, one cannot but think of Charminar which has all the qualities of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Now Congress Government wants to remove the iconic Charminar from the state Logo citing frivolous reasons. What a shame!!’
