HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy delivered a sharp rebuttal to BRS leader T Harish Rao's statements in the Assembly on Saturday, accusing the opposition party of dishonesty and misrepresenting facts. He said the people had already passed judgment on the BRS by voting them out of power, indicating a loss of trust in their leadership.

Revanth Reddy went on to list instances of alleged corruption during the BRS's previous tenure, including the sale of the Outer Ring Road for a paltry Rs 7,000 crore, the sheep distribution scam, and misappropriation of funds in the Batukamma saree distribution scheme. He accused the BRS of exploiting communities like the Kurmas and Yadavs for their own gain and providing conflicting figures on the expenditure of the Kaleshwaram project.

Countering the BRS's criticism of land sales under the current government, Revanth Reddy expressed his willingness to make public the data on land deals during the BRS's term, alleging that they had profited immensely from such transactions. He further criticised the lack of development in regions like Palamuru, citing the incomplete Palamuru project despite an expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore. He also highlighted the neglect of the Rangareddy district, which he claimed had been turned into a desert due to the previous government's apathy towards irrigation despite selling valuable land in the region.

Revanth Reddy challenged the BRS to agree to an investigation into the distribution of Batukamma sarees, KCR Kits, and the sheep distribution scheme, asserting that their claims of an honest government would be put to the test.
