Revanth Reddy as next Telangana Chief Minister? Congress to decide on Monday

HYDERABAD: In the wake of Congress coming to power for the first time after the formation of Telangana, a Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting has been convened here on Monday at 9:30 am.
Post the victory, all winning Telangana Congress MLAs have been directed to attend the CLP meeting. The meeting would also be attended by Congress ally CPI and Prof Kodandaram of the Telangana Jana Samithi.
The key priority of the meeting would be to decide on the next Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy is the top contender for the post and his nomination looks to be a mere formality.
A resolution would be passed at the meeting by all the MLAs on the choice of Chief Minister and the decision would be forwarded to the high command. The meeting would be held in the presence of key leaders at the behest of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Huzurnagar MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders met Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan on Sunday to stake claim for forming the formation of the Government.
There are also rumours of the Chief Ministerial candidate taking oath as early as on Monday at the LB Stadium. If not, the Congress is likely to stage the event on December 9, as announced earlier, in the presence of the Congress high command.
