HYDERABAD: TPCC president Revanth Reddy has demanded immediate release of salaries for contract junior lecturers in the State.

In an open letter addressed to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Revanth Reddy alleged that hundreds of contract junior lecturers had been working without pay for months, facing financial strain and mental pain.

He claimed that the government's failure to respond caused employees to go into debt, leading to emotional suffering and making it difficult for them to make ends meet.

The TPCC president emphasised the importance of contract employees and junior lecturers in the Telangana movement, saying that Chief Minister KCR promised them that their jobs would be made permanent with a single signature, which was also promised in the BRS (formerly TRS) 2014 manifesto.

He also alleged that government employees were paid salaries on the first day of every month in the past. But after the formation of the BRS government, the situation turned bad without a clue on when the salaries would be paid. Now the salaries of contract lecturers were still pending for five to six months. "Is this what an employee-friendly government means?" questioned Revanth Reddy in his letter.

He demanded an immediate clearance of pending salaries for contract junior lecturers, ensuring timely monthly payment and job regularization.
