HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed officials to collect details of the eligible poor residing in the Musi catchment area and those displaced by encroachments around lakes and ponds in Hyderabad. He directed officials to provide rehabilitation by allotting double-bedroom houses or other suitable alternatives to the displaced families.

In a review meeting on Musi Riverfront Development and Hyderabad Metro Rail projects, Revanth Reddy emphasised the need to conserve water bodies within the Outer Ring Road to prevent natural calamities. He ordered the installation of CCTV cameras at all lakes and ponds in Hyderabad, connecting them to the Command Control Center to curb further encroachments.

The Chief Minister also called to identify and mark full tank levels (FTL) and buffer zones around the water bodies, asking officials to submit a detailed report on these zones. He stressed that the state government would take necessary steps to protect the poor affected by such encroachments.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, particularly on the Old City expansion and proposed Metro connectivity from the airport to Future City. Officials were asked to accelerate land acquisition for metro projects and resolve related challenges. A comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Metro expansion from LB Nagar to Hayat Nagar and MGBS to Chandrayangutta was requested to be submitted to the Centre before Dussehra.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary for Municipal Administration Dana Kishore, Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, and other senior officials.
