The current emblem is a circular seal featuring the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar, with the Sarnath Lion Capital above. It includes the text 'Telangana Prabhutvamu' in Telugu, 'Government of Telangana' in English, 'Telangana Sarkar' in Urdu, and' Satyameva Jayate' in Sanskrit. After the Congress formed the government in December 2023, it decided to change Telangana's abbreviation from 'TS' to 'TG' in official usage. This change took effect on May 17 through a gazette notification.
The new emblem, finalised by the Chief Minister, will be unveiled on June 2 to mark the 10th anniversary of Telangana's formation. The Chief Minister stated that the new state emblem is designed to reflect the Telangana struggle and sacrifices.
