Revanth Reddy in cahoots with BJP at Centre to privatise Singareni: KTR
BRS working president KT Rama Rao has said that the Centre auctioned the Telangana coal mines to privatise Singareni.
HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has said that the Centre auctioned the Telangana coal mines to privatise Singareni.
KTR held a meeting with former Singareni MLAs, Singareni area leaders, senior party leaders, and coal mine workers union leaders at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.
He observed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was in cahoots with the BJP at the Centre and was planning to push Singareni into losses by not allocating coal mines. “After this, the Government will prepare for disinvestment of the profitable collieries,” KTR said.
Every Singareni worker understood that the Congress and the BJP colluded and put the Singareni mines up for sale, KTR pointed out.
“KCR has been working with public sector undertakings since the days of the separate Telangana movement. The country recognised the importance of Singareni during the mass strike. Five southern states were affected by the strike,” he said.
All the public sector undertakings in the State and the city did excellent work during the Telangana movement as strengthening of public sector undertakings was the BRS party’s policy, KTR said.
“This has been our policy from the time of the separate Telangana movement and even later when we were in Government. That's why we gave farmers insurance to LIC despite pressure from private insurance firms and BHEL has been entrusted with the construction of the power projects,” KTR said.
Every Singareni worker knew that during the nine-and-a-half years that BRS was in power, it worked for the development and expansion of Singareni, KTR said adding that when KCR was in power, he was able to stop the auction of Telangana coal mines for more than nine years.
"Even though the central government forcibly allotted two coal mines to private companies, we successfully prevented them from lifting coal. The Congress government was in power for only six months. Just two weeks after winning the elections, BJP MPs, along with the party leadership, put the Telangana coal mines up for auction,” the former Minister said.
He said that the Congress and the BJP were trying to create an illusion that there was no voice of Telangana in the Parliament. “They forgot that the BRS will stand by the workers if Singareni is in trouble. Singareni will be saved under the leadership of the main opposition party BRS,” he said.
