HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has invited BRS President and Leader of Opposition K Chandrashekhar Rao to join him in a 'fast unto death' protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to demand central funds for Telangana.

During a discussion in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday regarding the injustice done to Telangana in the Union Budget, Revanth Reddy expressed his willingness to stage the protest if KCR agrees to join him. He called on the BRS to finalise a date and schedule for the dharna at Jantar Mantar.

The Chief Minister was responding to a suggestion by BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao, who proposed that the entire Telangana cabinet should protest in Delhi against the Central Government's treatment of the state. KTR assured full support from all BRS MLAs, MLCs, and MPs for the dharna.

Earlier, BRS MLA T Harish Rao questioned how Revanth Reddy planned to conduct the protest. He referenced a previous statement by Revanth Reddy, in which the Chief Minister advised him to hold a protest for farmers and suggested KTR undertake a 'fast unto death' to address the issues of unemployment. Harish Rao questioned the Chief Minister's role, asking, "If you want us to do all these things, what will you do?"
