Revanth Reddy launches free bus travel for women, enhanced Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme in Telangana
Revanth Reddy on Saturday reaffirmed his commitment to implement the six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power in the State
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday reaffirmed his commitment to implement the six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power in the State.
Revanth Reddy launched Maha Lakshmi scheme and Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme-(enhanced to Rs 10 lakh), the two of the six guarantees at Telangana Assembly premises, coinciding with the birthday of Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi.
The Chief Minister unveiled the posters and logo of Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme. He also handed over a cheque of Rs 2 crore to world boxing champion and Commonwealth games gold medalist Nikhat Zareen to prepare for the upcoming Summer Olympics-2024 in Paris.
The Chief Minister said, “It is a special day and has historical importance for Telangana people. On December 9, 2009 former Home Minister P Chidambaram had announced in Parliament that the Centre will create Telangana State respecting the aspirations of the people. Sonia Gandhi has given the opportunity to proudly say that I am from Telangana.”
Revanth Reddy said that Sonia Gandhi had announced six guarantees for Telangana to improve the living conditions of the people. The State Government would take the responsibility to implement all the six guarantees, he said and added that all the women should make best use of the Mahalakshmi scheme to travel for free of cost in the State.
Later, the Chief Minister accompanied by Cabinet colleagues deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, Ponnam Prabhaakar, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, Dansari Anasuya aka Seethakka, D Sridhar Babu, Thummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Jupalli Krishna Rao and Damodar Raja Narasimha boarded the TSRTC bus and traveled to Tank Bund.
After reaching Tank Bund, Revanth Reddy and ministers paid tributes to the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar and returned back to Assembly premises.
