Revanth Reddy launches Indiramma Indlu housing scheme in Bhadrachalam
Telangana Govt has earmarked Rs 22,500 crore to sanction 4.50 lakh houses for Indiramma Indlu scheme launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy
BHADRACHALAM: Chief Minister A Revanth Revanth has challenged BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao to seek votes only in areas where the previous BRS Government has given double-bedroom housing, and the Congress will campaign in areas where it has given Indiramma houses.
He was speaking after launching the ambitious Indramma Indlu housing scheme in Bhadrachalam on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his delight at launching the Indiramma Indlu scheme, with Lord Rama in Bhadradari Temple as the witness. He outlined the scheme's primary objective of providing housing to poor families. He also announced that titles to the Indiramma houses would be granted in the names of women.
In a direct challenge to BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged him to seek votes exclusively in areas where the previous BRS government had implemented double-bedroom housing projects. In contrast, the Congress would seek votes in places where people got the Indiramma houses. He also called upon the BJP to clarify the number of houses provided by the Central government in Telangana.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government had allocated Rs 22,500 crore to sanction 4,50,000 Indiramma houses. He criticised former Chief Minister KCR, alleging deception in securing votes under the pretext of double-bedroom houses over the past decade.
Emphasising the historical solid bond between Khammam district and the Congress, he stated that the Indiramma Indlu scheme was initiated in Khammam as a testament to this connection.
Revanth Reddy said that the Congress Government had fulfilled several assurances given as part of six guarantees to the people within 100 days of coming to power. They included the provision of gas cylinders at Rs 500, free travel for women in RTC buses, and 200 units of free electricity for the poor. The addition of the Indiramma Indlu scheme, aimed at providing Rs 5 lakhs to construct homes for the underprivileged, further underscored the government's commitment to social welfare.
