Revanth Reddy’s saree jibe evokes a sharp reaction; KTR taunts Congress on all schemes
"Revanth Reddy, will you wear a saree or make Rahul Gandhi wear one? Where are you paying Rs 2,500 per month?" Asks KTR.
HYDERABAD: A sarcastic suggestion by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao to wear a saree and get into an RTC bus to check if the Congress government's implementation of its six guarantees evoked a sharp reaction from KTR.
Revanth Reddy made the remark during a public meeting in Nirmal, challenging KTR to don a saree and verify whether the Congress government was delivering on its commitment to implement six guarantees.
At the same event, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress government was depositing Rs 2,500 into women's accounts every month. This claim, however, was inaccurate, as the Congress government had not yet implemented the scheme.
KTR, in his sharp response swiftly, took to social media platform “X” and said, "Revanth Reddy, will you wear a saree or make Rahul Gandhi wear one? Where are you paying Rs 2,500 per month? These are blatant lies."
KTR also pointed out that 1.67 crore women in Telangana, aged 18 and older, had yet to receive the promised Rs 2,500 monthly deposit. "These women will teach Congress a lesson for breaking their promise to implement everything within 100 days," he said.
Additionally, KTR criticised the Congress government's track record on women's welfare. "You talked about 'Indiramma's Rajyam,' but you chanted 'Soniamma.' Yet the Congress government completely failed when it came to women's welfare." He further claimed that the Congress had discontinued the KCR Kit and Nutrition Kit programs and halted the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme. "Where is the promised one tola of gold for newlywed women?" he asked.
KTR also commented on the poor conditions of RTC buses, which were often overcrowded and led to fisticuffs among passengers. He asserted that the Congress government, having obstructed various programs, lacked the credibility to seek votes from women due to its incompetence and lack of meaningful action.
