Revanth welcomes PJR's daughter to Congress
She said that only Congress could do justice to the people and said that she was ready to work under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy and MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and many other Congress party leaders accorded a grand welcome to Khairatabad corporator Vijaya Reddy, daughter of late P. Janardhan Reddy, who joined the Congress party at the Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.
Corporator Vijaya Reddy said that she was always indebted to the people of Khairatabad. She said that she decided to leave Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and join the TPCC after days of contemplation and that the chaos in the city and the State led her to make the decision.
She also expressed that he was deeply saddened by the recent incidents in Hyderabad. She alleged that the poor are being ignored and the welfare of the people was being set aside. She said that only Congress could do justice to the people and said that she was ready to work under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Revanth Reddy said that PJR had left a significant mark on the people. He called PJR a people's leader and thanked him for his services to the State. He explained that many of the bastions in Hyderabad were lit up by his efforts and that PJR did not hesitate to depose even his party, for the people.
The TPCC chief later said that the government had side-lined lowers sections of the people in the State. He said that 'bastis' in Hyderabad needed leadership and someone to fight on their behalf and added that Vijaya Reddy was the right person for this.
MP Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy said he was happy that Vijaya Reddy was joining the Congress party and that she has a bright future. He said that people would recognise her as she is PJR's daughter.
