JANGAON: Revenue and police officials in Palakurthi mandal of Jangaon district evicted poor families from government-allocated double-bedroom homes in Thorrur (J) village.

Authorities sealed the houses, constructed during the BRS government's tenure, despite the families continuing to reside there.

Although beneficiaries were selected in a gram sabha held last year, officials have not yet provided the promised land titles. Local Congress leaders reportedly pressured officials to evict the families, resulting in the sudden action.

When the authorities entered the homes, household belongings were thrown outside. The families pleaded with the officials but were ignored. Residents, left without shelter, expressed dismay, questioning the current administration's actions and stating that after voting for MLA Mamidala Yashaswini Reddy, they had expected better treatment.
