Rouse Avene Court denies interim bail to BRS MLC Kavitha in liquor policy case
Special CBI judge Kaveri Baweja of Rouse Avenue Courts dismissed Kavitha’s interim bail application on Monday. The verdict was kept on reserve by the judge on April 4, 2024.
NEW DELHI: The Rouse Avenue Court has denied interim bail to BRS MLA and daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the Delhi Liquor Police scam case.
Special CBI judge Kaveri Baweja of Rouse Avenue Courts dismissed Kavitha’s interim bail application on Monday. The verdict was kept on reserve by the judge on April 4, 2024.
Kavitha sought interim bail pleading to the court that her presence at home was needed as her son would be attending examinations. During arguments Counsel for Kavitha, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi quoted the Delhi High Court judgment in the Preeti Chandra case and pleaded that Kavitha could be given interim bail to be with her children during the time of examinations
However, special counsel Zoheb Hossain representing ED said that Kavitha could influence witnesses if she was let out on interim bail while her main bail petition would taken for consideration on April 20, 2024.
The ED's counsel argued that Kavitha had threatened an accused in the case who later turned into an approver.
