HYDERABAD: Former IPS officer and former BSP Telangana president RS Praveen Kumar joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of its president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at the latter's farmhouse in Erravelli on Monday. KCR invited Praveen Kumar into the BRS fold by offering him a pink scarf.
Over 35 State-level leaders including BSP general secretary K Vijay Kumar, State treasurer Raja Ratnam, and 50 district-level leaders joined the BRS in the presence of KCR.
“Today I have joined the BRS. Many people are blaming me that I have joined the BRS for a package, but I am not. If I wanted a package I could have joined the Congress,” he said addressing the media.
Affirming that he saw no difference between Telangana aspirations and Bahujana aspirations Praveen Kumar said that KCR could not be erased from the hearts of the people of Telangana. He said that soon both Telangana and Bahujana concepts would meet and flow like the confluence of Krishna and Tungabhadra.

Refusing the offer allegedly made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asking him to take over as the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) he said that the Chief Minister was trying to lure him to become another sheep in the herd that was joining the Congress.
“Not just Revanth Reddy, I too belong to Palamuru. I am the son of the Palamuru region who grew up amidst the serene Nadigadda region. I have every right to make a decision. I am a free man with free will,” he said.
Cautioning Revanth that he could not be arm twisted to join the Congress, Praveen Kumar said that several leaders were forced and threatened to join the Congress. “Only selfish people are joining the Congress,” he observed.
