RS Praveen Kumar placed under house arrest ahead of Police Martyrs' memorial event
RS Praveen Kumar questioned his house arrest before the Police Martyrs' Memorial event, expressing frustration at the government's actions.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government organised a Police Martyrs' Memorial event at the Goshamahal Police Stadium, attended by retired and senior IPS officers. Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender extended invitations to several prominent figures to honour police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar was invited to participate in the parade for the event. However, on the night before the ceremony, Praveen Kumar was placed under house arrest by the police. Expressing his outrage, he questioned DGP Jitender about the decision. "Is this the right approach? Do I not have the right to pay my respects to my fellow officers who died in service? Am I being treated like a terrorist?" he asked.
RS Praveen Kumar also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, asking, "Why are you so afraid of us? How long will this unlawful behaviour continue?
