KODANGAL: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy calling upon the people of Mahbubnagar district to ensure the victory of the Congress party Mahbubnagar MP candidate Vamsichander Reddy in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections with a majority of 50,000 votes assured them that he would double the benefits offered to Kodangal Assembly constituency.

Earlier he unveiled development works worth Rs 4,369.143 crore for Kodangal.

“Former CM K Chandrashekar Rao was MP from Mahbubnagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Mahbubnagar in 2014 and promised national status to Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme, none of them kept their promises,” he recalled.

Predicting a BJP BRS poll truck in the ensuing elections, he said that the Congress would receive strength from Telangana if 14 MPs were elected from the State and sent to Loksabha. He promised that he would ensure that Kodangal received water from the Krishna River.

Urging the cadre to renew their hard work once again for a victory in the Lok Sabha elections, he said that within a week his Government would start implementing the Rs 500 gas cylinder and 200 units of free power for white card holders. “Very soon crop loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh will be undertaken. But first, we will implement ‘Rytu Bandhu’ by 15 March,” he announced.

Earlier he distributed bank linkage checks to women's self-help groups in Kosgi on Wednesday as a part of his one-day visit to his constituency Kodangal and called for strengthening women financially.

He later addressed self-help groups at the "Aatmiya Sammelanam " programme. “The Government will strengthen the women's self-help groups. I have already announced the stitching of school uniforms work will be awarded to self-help groups and instructed the authorities to take steps in this regard,” he said.

He said the Government also contemplated providing interest-free loans to women's groups. “IKP centres will be strengthened and measures will be taken to incentivise women who engaged in cottage industries,” he added.

The Chief Minister then unveiled works worth Rs 4,369.143 crore from the same venue.
