Rythu Bandhu scheme turns 5 years; distribution of 10th installment begins
Telangana Government commenced the disbursement of the 10th installment of investment assistance to the 70.54 lakh farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government on Wednesday commenced the disbursement of the 10th installment of investment assistance to the 70.54 lakh farmers related to the Yasangi season under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
As part of it, the government deposited Rs. 607.32 crores into the accounts of farmers, who held one acre of farmland, on the first day i.e December 28. As many as 21,02,822 farmers received the Rythu Bandhu funds today, at the click of a button.
Telangana Finance and Health Minister Tanneru Harish Rao announced on his Twitter handle by writing, "70.54 Lakh Telangana state farmers will receive investment support under Rythu Bandhu scheme for Yasangi season commencing today, Dec. 28, 2022."
"On the first day today, a sum of 607.32 crores has already been deposited into 21,02,822 farmers holding up to 1 acre," Rao added further.
The Telangana government allocated a budget of Rs. 7,676 crore for the 10th season of Rythu Bandhu, which will be disbursed in a phased manner in the next three days for as many as 70.54 lakh farmers amounting to 1.53 crore acres in the season. It is learned that the Telangana government, which is working towards the welfare of the farmers in the state has disbursed about Rs. 65,558 crores in the last 10 seasons under Rythu Bandhu as part of investment support.
Apart from Rythu Bandhu, the Telangana government went ahead with massive programs such as 24 hours power supply to farmers having borewells, providing water to one crore acre, Rythu Bima, setting up 7000-grain purchasing centers, and waiving off Rs. 17,000 crore farmers loans.
It is noteworthy that several other states were in awe of the welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana and demanding that their governments too follow the footsteps of Telangana state. The farmers of Telangana are expressing their gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the Rythu Bandhu scheme being run regularly.
