Sabitha Indra Reddy pained by series of deaths at IIIT-Basar
Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy expressed her heartfelt sympathy over the death of first-year PUC student B Likitha at IIIT-Basar in Nirmal district
HYDERABAD: Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy expressed her heartfelt sympathy over the death of first-year PUC student B Likitha who succumbed to injuries after falling from the fourth floor of the hostel building at IIIT-Basar in Nirmal district.
In a statement on Thursday, the minister said that she was pained by the series of unfortunate events at the IIIT-Basar. She recalled that two days ago a first-year Pre-University Course (PUC) student V Deepika died by suicide at the campus.
The minister said that the second incident had occurred, even as the detailed report into the circumstances that led to Deepika’s tragic death was being submitted by the committee that was assigned to dwell into her suicide.
The minister further said that she would soon call for a press conference and divulge full details of the death of Likitha. She advised students on the campus not to get disheartened by the tragic events and to concentrate on their studies.
