Selection will be transparent, Revanth Reddy assures aspirants of Congress tickets

HYDERABAD: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said that the selection of party candidates for the ensuing elections in the State would be done most transparently and the final authority in this matter would be the party’s central election committee.
The Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) met at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday and prepared a list that would be sent to the screening committee in a sealed cover. The screening committee would be camping in Hyderabad for three days to prepare a list that would be submitted to the central committee for a final decision.
“The party has decided to accommodate a maximum number of BC candidates based on their credentials at the grassroots level. The first list will be released after the central election committee okays the list submitted by the screening committee,’ Revanth said.
On Monday the screening committee would meet every member of the PEC separately to elicit the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate presented before them. On Tuesday the committee would meet all the District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents and senior leaders. On September 6, the screening committee in a special meeting would prepare the final list to be submitted to the central committee.
