Sravan Dasoju alleges Revanth Reddy mislead Kharge on KCR’s pro-SC/ST schemes

HYDERABAD: BRS Hyderabad in-charge Dr Sravan Dasoju has alleged that TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and Congress strategist Sunil Kumar Kanugolu have deliberately kept Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the dark about the “Historical work done by KCR Government towards the upliftment of dalits and tribals and the SC/ST empowerment schemes being implemented in Telangana.”

In an open letter to Kharge, in response to the SC/ST declaration announced at Chevella public meeting, Dr Sravan Dasoju highlighted the various schemes implemented by the KCR regime spending a whopping Rs 1,81,462 crore exclusively for the disadvantaged sections between 2014-23. Asserting that KCR had steadfastly followed Dr BR Ambedkar idles, he highlighted that installation of 125-foot-tall Ambedkar statue abutting the new Secretariat which was also christened after Ambedkar.

Reacting to the SC/ST declaration announced by the Congress at Chevella, he said “That was not a declaration, but frustration” Kharge’s tour wasn’t even publicised. The Congress ditched SC/ST people. He sought to know why Podu lands were not distributed during the Congress regime, while KCR could successfully implement it.

Sravan Dasoju questioned why the Congress had failed to implement SC categorisation.

The BRS Hyderabad in-charge said that Revanth Reddy had scant respect for dalits and he compulsively humiliated dalit leaders. When Kharge had visited Telangana to address a meeting at Chevella, he was taken in a car, whereas any other would have been taken in a helicopter. When another dalit leader and former deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, was nominated for the apex body in the party, the Congress working Committee (CWC), Revanth Reddy lacked the courtesy of offering felicitation to him, he said.

Sravan Dasoju said that Revanth Reddy had humiliated another tall dalit leader and former minister J Geetha Reddy and now she was languishing in ill-health. However, when Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hobnobbed with the BJP, Revanth Reddy did not have the gall to question him or initiate any action, he said.
