Business Advisory Committee on Thursday decided to hold the present monsoon session for just three days. However, the BAC could extend the duration for one more day
HYDERABAD: Business Advisory Committee (BAC) that met under the Chairmanship of Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Thursday decided to hold the present monsoon session for just three days. However, the BAC could extend the duration for one more day.
The BAC attended by T Harish Rao and V Prashanth Reddy of the BRS, Bhatti Vikramarka of the Congress and Akbaruddin Owaisi of the AIMIM agreed to take up discussion on recent rains and the resultant floods that shook the State on Friday and to pass upto ten bills on Saturday.
However, Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka demanded the Government extend the sessions to at least 20 days to discuss several pertinent issues. Minister T Harish Rao was said to have shot down the proposal by saying that manhours were more important than days, stressing the need for quality discussion than lengthy orations.
Meanwhile, BJP legislator Etela Rajender addressing media at the media point alleged that BJP Legislature Party (BJPLP) was not invited to the BAC. “Earlier parties even with one MLA used to attend the BAC. This is nothing but discrimination,” he said. He also said that BJPLP’s demand for office accommodation inside the Assembly premises was also rejected by the Speaker.
“Every day, if we come early to the Assembly we have to sit in the Nizam Club as we do not have an office here even though there is a lot of office space available in the State Assembly,” he rued.
