Telangana Assembly passes thanksgiving motion to Governor amid din
The Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that the Chief Minister was scheduled to address the Legislative Council and the opposition could seek clarifications in some other way and day.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Legislative Assembly has unanimously passed the resolution thanking the Governor for her address to the joint session amidst the din, with the opposition BRS members demanding time to seek clarifications.
Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao seeking clarification after the Chief Minister’s reply said that Revanth Reddy was not behaving like a Chief Minister but he was still talking like a TPCC president.
“He is continuing his blame game against us. During the elections, he spread canards against us by repeatedly lying,” Harish Rao said seeking more time to refute every allegation made by the Chief Minister in the house.
At this juncture, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddila Sridhar Babu urged Harish Rao to limit his speech to clarifications. “It was wrong to say that the BRS Government gave a chance to two Congress members to speak. Only one was given a chance to speak and seek clarification. How can KTR speak and Harish Rao seek clarifications,” Sridhar Babu wanted to know.
However, Harish Rao continued his speech and said that Congress was the epitome of family-run rule. “PV Narasimha Rao, the son of the soil was not even given a place for a decent cremation in Delhi. Sonia Gandhi did not even offer tributes to his dead body and Revanth Reddy talks about family rule,” Harish Rao while the treasury benches protested his comments.
The Legislative Affairs Minister then said that the Chief Minister was scheduled to address the Legislative Council and the opposition could seek clarifications in some other way and day. However, Harish Rao refused to yield and demanded that he be given a chance to protest and walk out of the house.
However, the Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar then presented the resolution before the house for passing and the resolution was passed unanimously. The Speaker then adjourned the house till Wednesday.
