Telangana education department orders withdrawal of textbooks over ex-CM KCR's name
Orders were issued to securely store those books until further instructions are given in the next teleconference at 11 am on Friday
HYDERABAD: The c has issued orders to withdraw textbooks in Telangana due to the presence of the former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's name still being mentioned as the chief minister of the state in some books.
The Telangana State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), responsible for publishing new textbooks for government school students for the academic year 2024-25, published the Chief Minister of the state as K Chandrashekhar Rao and the Education Minister as Kadiam Srihari in the foreword of all textbooks distributed to students on Wednesday, marking the first day of school reopening after summer vacation.
Reports indicate that the name of a former Minister is also included in the foreword of Abhyasa Deepika. Consequently, orders were issued to withdraw those books. Orders were issued to securely store those books until further instructions are given in the next teleconference at 11 am on Friday.
The Commissioner of School Education requested a compliance report on the withdrawal and safe storage of Telugu language books 1 to 10 and Abhyasa Deepika books.
