Telangana Government declares public holiday for Shab-e-Meraj

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government has announced a public holiday for Shab-e-Meraj, a holy festival for Muslims, on February 8, 2024. The State Government in its calendar had earlier listed Shab-e-Meraj as an optional holiday. As a result, all Government offices and schools would be closed on that day.
Shab-e-Meraj is a holy night for all Muslims across the world, celebrated to commemorate the night journey of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Jerusalem and his ascension to heaven.
