HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana State Government plans to set up a health tourism hub.
Speaking at the 24th anniversary of the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute on Saturday, Revanth Reddy revealed that the proposed hub would be established on 500-1000 acres near the Shamshabad area. He assured that the Basavatarakam Hospital would be a part of this initiative, stating, "Our government will support the hospital in any way required."
Revanth Reddy acknowledged the legacy of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, attributing his political and welfare efforts to Rao's influence. "Because of the party he established (TDP), we are where we are," he said.
He commended Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for completing the hospital to continue NTR's vision of serving the poor. He hoped that the third generation of NTR, including Lokesh, Bharat, Teju, and Brahmini, would continue this legacy while Balakrishna focused on his film career.
Revanth Reddy emphasised that the Telugu states should serve as a model for development and welfare globally. He noted the competitive spirit of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, saying, "Earlier, working 12 hours a day was sufficient, but now, since Chandrababu works for 18 hours, I have to work 18 hours as well."
