Telangana Govt announces guidelines for Gruhalaxmi housing scheme

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government announced guidelines on Friday for selecting beneficiaries and approving financial support for the Gruhalaxmi scheme, which aims to provide for SC, ST, BC, and minorities.

The State Government sanctioned 3,000 houses per Assembly Constituency and a state reserve of 43,000 a total of 4,00,000 houses under the New Housing Scheme for Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) mode with financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh per house as a 100 percent subsidy with the goal of providing dignified living to poor families in the State.

The houses would be sanctioned in the names of women, according to the GO issued by Special Secretary, Transport, Roads, and Buildings department on June 21, 2021, and the beneficiaries would be allowed to choose their own design type to build the house. Each beneficiary would receive Rs 3 lakh in aid to build a two-room house with an RCC-framed structure and a toilet.

The beneficiary of the scheme should have its own housing site, according to the State government-approved Gruhalaxmi programme. A ration card must be held by the beneficiary or any other member of her family. The list of beneficiaries in each assembly constituency must include at least 20 percent SCs, 10 percent STs, and 50 percent BCs and minorities.

The Telangana State Housing Corporation has proposed implementing a new housing project for the construction of houses on their own land by granting Rs 3 lakh each to construct 4 lakh residences, with at least 3,000 houses in each assembly constituency.The project had a budget provision of Rs.12000 crore made by the government for the fiscal year 2023-24.

The beneficiary would receive a financial aid of three lakh rupees as a 100 percent subsidy. Payments would be made in three phases of Rs. 1 lakh each, including the basement level stage, the roof Laid stage, and the completion stage.

A total of Rs 7,350 crore was granted to the new home scheme for recipients on their own land. The state government in the GO has also issued directions for the said program's implementation by the District Collectors in the Districts and the Commissioner, GHMC in the GHMC area.

The district collectors would be the nodal officers for the scheme's execution in the districts.The Commissioner would be the nodal person for the Gruhalaxmi Scheme in the GHMC area.

The Managing Director of TSHCL would develop a separate website and mobile application for the scheme's execution, under the collaboration of the Centre for Good Governance (CGG).

The scheme's entire process would be carried out via an internet portal. Uploading photographs with geographic locations and date and time stamps in three stages of the house, namely the basement level, roof placed stage, and finishing stage, would be done online.
