Telangana govt defers Group 2 exams for three months, new dates likely soon

HYDERABAD: The Government of Telangana on Saturday announced that it decided to postpone the TSPSC Group-2 exams to November after considering the concerns of candidates and political parties’ leaders over a clash of various competitive exams on August 29 and 30.

Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, on the instructions of Chief Minister KCR, held a meeting with the Chairman and Secretary of TSPSC on Saturday and discussed the matter in detail. Upon receiving the minutes of the meeting, the Chief Minister asked her have the examination postponed to November in the larger interest of aspirants. The new schedule will be released soon.

Earlier, BRS working president and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao also highlighted the issue through his Twitter handle saying that Chief Minister KCR directed the Chief Secretary to have the Group-2 examination rescheduled in consultation with TSPSC to ensure that candidates in Telangana did not face any inconvenience.

The minister also suggested that in the future, the notification of recruitment exams should not have any sort of clashes with other exams so that the candidates could appear for all eligible exams with adequate preparation time.

Meanwhile, as many as 5.51 lakh people have applied for the Group-2 examination and preparations have been made for conducting them on earlier scheduled dates, however, the exams were deferred to November.
