Telangana Government released Rs 642.52 crores benefitting 22,55,081 farmers under the Rytu Bandhu scheme meant for the ‘Vanakalam’ (Kharif) season of 2023-24
HYDERABAD: Telangana Government on Monday released Rs 642.52 crores benefitting 22,55,081 farmers under the Rytu Bandhu scheme meant for the ‘Vanakalam’ (Kharif) season of 2023-24.
Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said that the process of depositing the amounts directly to farmer’s accounts would continue on a daily basis. However, he added that the beneficiary farmers must follow the directions given by the agricultural department.
The Minister said that over 70 lakh farmers in the state were benefitting from the financial input scheme. Another five lakh new farmers were added to the existing list of beneficiaries from this season. Additionally, four lakh acres belonging to 1.5 lakh Podu farmers in the state would also receive the Rytu Bandhu benefit from this season.
In all, Rs 7720.29 crore would be deposited directly to the accounts of farmers this season, benefitting 1.54 crore acres of land, despite an additional burden of Rs 300 crore on the Government.
The agriculture department advised first-time beneficiaries to consult the local agriculture department along with their bank details to receive the amounts.
