Telangana police constable critically injured as weapon misfires

ASIFABAD : A police constable was shot in the throat with a bullet fired from his weapon on Tuesday morning in Telangana's Kautala police station's Komuram Bheem Asifabad district.

According to reports, the incident is being investigated as a weapon mishap while Constable Sura Rajini Kumar was on sentry duty. Rajini Kumar, who is currently in critical condition, was rushed to the hospital.

Sura Rajini Kumar, who's a resident of Batwanpalli village in Mancherial district, is from Telangana State Special Police unit's 13th Battalion. Around 5 a.m., police officers at the Kautala police station heard a gunshot and discovered Rajini Kumar in a pool of blood.
