HYDERABAD: Telangana, which has been in the forefront of multiple indices in the country, has added one more feather to its fabled cap. The state emerged second among major states in the Indian Manufacturing Innovation Index (IMII) Rankings 2022. The latest achievement vindicates Telangana’s rapid strides in the manufacturing sector.

Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao, who also holds the industries portfolio, shared this news with a tweet on Friday. As per the decennial IMII index for 2022, Telangana stood third in the overall rankings while it followed Karnataka in the second place among the major states. KTR shared screenshots of the index listing various states in their respective ranks. The index was themed on ‘Assessment of Firm-Level Innovation in Indian Manufacturing’.


KTR tweeted: “Telangana’s leadership in the manufacturing sector reaffirmed!!

#TriumphantTelangana ranked 2nd among major States in the decennial Indian Manufacturing (IMII) Rankings 2022.

The rankings are released as part of the National Manufacturing Innovation Survey (NMIS) 2021-22 conducted by @UNIDO in collaboration with the @IndiaDST, Govt. of India.

This stands as a testimony to the robust innovation ecosystem and investor friendly policies of the Telangana government.”
