Telangana students in a quandary as CET exams clash with academic tests
The students are expressing concern as they are unable to decide whether to appear either for the entrance examination or the academic examinations
HYDERABAD: The undergraduate students pursuing B.Com, BBA, and B.Sc in various universities across Telangana and aspiring to seek admissions in the postgraduate courses, especially in LLB, MBA and MCA through LAWCET and ICET, are in quandary as the entrance examinations and the academic exams are falling on the same days.
The students are expressing concern as they are unable to decide whether to appear either for the entrance examination or the academic examinations.
It is known that the boards that conduct entrance examinations will provide information to all the universities at the time of the release of the notifications so that they could plan the academic examinations accordingly to avoid a clash of dates. However, the scenario was a bit different this time as the entrance examination, which is usually held on Sundays, was scheduled on weekdays. This decision has made it difficult for both the students and the employees who wish to write entrance exams to pursue higher studies.
The LAWCET exam is scheduled for May 25, 2023 followed by the ICET on May 26, 2023. The academic examinations including theoretical and practical exams are going to be held between May 19 to May 29, thus leaving the students in a state of confusion. It view of this unprecedented situation, it remains to be seen if the various departments of the universities will take a call at this juncture to postpone the academic examinations.
