Telangana to receive normal to above-average rainfall in July
The IMD predicted more rainfall, in the North Telangana districts in July, 2023
HYDERABAD: Telangana state is expected to receive normal to above-average rainfall in July 2023. The Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) predicted more rainfall, in the North Telangana districts in July.
The monthly rainfall across the country in July is most likely to be average (94 to 106 percent of the long period average (LPA)) and on the positive side of normal, according to IMD. Many regions of northwest, northeast and southeast peninsular India are expected to get below-average rainfall.
According to the spatial distribution, normal to above-average rainfall is most likely throughout most of central India, surrounding south peninsular and east India, besides certain portions of northeast and northwest India.
Maximum temperatures are likely to be normal to above-normal over most of the country in July, with the exception of a few places in northwest and peninsular India, which are expected to experience below-average maximum temperatures.
Most of the country would have normal to above-average minimum temperatures, with the exception of several places in northwest India, which would experience below-normal minimum temperatures.
High probability of El Nino
El Nino conditions are likely to emerge across the equatorial Pacific Ocean from July to September 2023, with positive Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) conditions developing over the Indian Ocean.
Since sea surface temperature (SST) conditions in the Pacific and Indian Oceans are known to have a considerable influence on the Indian monsoon, the IMD is constantly monitoring the evolution of SST conditions in these Ocean basins.
