HYDERABAD: Residents of Chowlathanda, a tribal hamlet in Suryapet district, staged a unique protest on Monday against the poor condition of their road. Frustrated with the lack of proper access to their village, especially during the monsoon season, they planted rice saplings on the muddy road to draw the authorities' attention.

The villagers complained that the road becomes extremely slushy and dangerous during the rainy season, making it difficult for them to commute, particularly to the nearby Mandal headquarters. They highlighted the difficulties faced by vehicles that often get stuck in the mud.

The villagers have appealed to the local MLA, Mandula Samuel, to address their concerns and provide a proper paved road to their village. They have threatened to intensify their protest if their demands are not met.
